Who can take this SRNA (CNA) class?
The class is open to anyone 17 years of age or older.  The state of Kentucky requires that students pass a criminal background check, drug screen and two-step TB skin test.  Students are also required to pass a physical to determine if they are able to perform the duties of a nurse aide (bending, twisting, standing, lifting, etc.)

How long  does it take to complete the class?
The nurse aide class takes 10 class days to complete.  These 10 class days can be completed in one of two ways:

  1. WEEKDAY OPTION – This option requires 2 full weeks to complete.
  2. WEEKEND OPTION – This option requires 5 weekends to complete.

Details of the current schedule are available upon request at 502-974-2541.

What is the total cost of taking the class?
The total cost is $650.  This includes the non-refundable registration fee of $50 and $600 for tuition.  The price incudes the cost of the book, drug screen and background check.  Right Choice also provides each student with a required red scrub top.

Additional costs to the student include the purchase of black scrub bottoms and the 2-step TB skin test ($30). For those students who plan to take the state test upon completion of the course, the cost is $75 through the Jefferson Community Technical School.

Is my Kentucky SRNA license recognized by other states?
Each state is different.  If you plan to work in a state other than Kentucky, you need to check with that state to check their reciprocity policy.
